Butterfly Garden

The Butterfly Garden was designed and developed in 2015 and represents the shape of a Swallowtail Butterfly, the butterfly of Georgia.

The Garden’s a wingspan of 57 feet and consists of both pollinator and host plants.  Many are perennials, such as the butterfly bush, butterfly weed, daylily, lantana, Homestead verbena, coneflower, sedum, parsley, lavender, bronze dill, Guara, Russian sage, Joe Pye weed, Blue Eyed Grass and yarrow. Other plants, such as pentas, cosmos, French marigolds, and zinnias, are annuals.  We also add to our milkweed collection each year for the Monarch butterflies.

We are very proud to be on the Rosalynn Carter Butterfly Trail.  Please visit the Ball Ground Botanical Garden, adjacent to BG City Hall, at 215 Valley St. Ball Ground, Georgia.
